  1. Shame, it’s the only time that I actually agreed with the plonker. Can’t say im overly shocked though, he backtracked on his principles as soon as it looked like the techbros would pull out and he’d be out of pocket

  2. One of the few times he was right in what he said, shame he doesn’t have the courage of his convictions.

  3. Guess hes not the man of principles that he claims he is.

  4. What an absolute pile of shit. I wonder if his reddit account is available for a comment.

  5. This has to be the first apology he has ever made.

Remarkable character development (by money) for the Tesco value Elon musk

  6. Jeez, theres alot of hatred for this guy on here. Chill out like!

  7. So not only is he a prick, he’s a spineless prick. “These are my principles, and if you don’t like them, I have others”

  8. If this is the end of him then at least we can thank Hamas for something

  9. I saw one of the complaints against him was some tweets he liked. One of those quoted the Taoiseach’s insistence on respect for international law by Israel. Another cited sponsorship of an event by Qatar which has been linked to Hamas. [This Guardian article may help guide further venture capitalists in what to boycott. Or not.](https://www.theguardian.com/business/ng-interactive/2022/nov/05/how-qatar-bought-up-britain) I haven’t seen Cosgrove make any endorsement of Hamas and their terrorism or deny that they are a fundamentalist religious group intent on genocide.

I’d be very wary of Israeli linked dictats about what criticism may be leveled against them. They have attempted to fashion a cage for narratives about their role in the Middle East and if they start trying to enforce that through economic boycotts then much more than websummit may be in play.

  10. His side of this is all quite reasonable. Good to see the old pro Israeli right wing media is still being being ruffled by him.

Remember, everything we know about him comes from putrid Fine Gael diarrhea fountains like RTÉ, independent and the Journal.

  11. The tweet that he’s apologising for:

    >I’m shocked at the rhetoric and actions of so many Western leaders & governments, with the exception in particular of Ireland’s government, who for once are doing the right thing. War crimes are war crimes even when committed by allies, and should be called out for what they are.

I know he’s unpopular here, but in fairness he doesn’t actually walk back anything he said, he even quotes the US secretary of state saying basically the exact same thing as he did. It’s not like he could come out fully supporting Israel anyways, he’s having his web summit in Qatar next year. Seems like he’s just being targeted by an Israeli ambassador for obvious reasons.
