Hi all
I am coming back from Germany tonight and the train on the German side has at least 20 minutes delay.
The thing is that I have another train to take in order for me to, finally, go home.
We bought some [discounted tickets](https://www.sbb.ch/fr/abonnements-et-billets/possibilites-achat/economiser.html) (I have no clue how to say it in English or German so here the cff links) with is only for specific train and schedule. So, knowing that I will miss my other train because of the delay, do I need to buy another ticket d’incident the one I have is for a specific schedule ?

  1. yes you need to buy a new ticket if you don’t take the exact train that you bought the ticket for

  2. Unless your ticket for the German train was also bought thru SBB/CFF (in which case MAYBE the Swiss train ticket might still be valid, depending on terms and conditions), you probably have to buy another ticket.

You could explain the situation and ask the train conductor of the later Swiss train (before you board) if he will accept the ticket in that train; sometimes they are quite cool about it, but your luck may vary.

If the German train is delayed over an hour, you can reclaim some percentage of the German ticket price. You should ask the German conductor for an official DB „passenger rights form“ on which he should confirm the delay.

For next time: Don‘t rely on DB trains being on time. Very often they are delayed or even partially cancelled, especially in the afternoon and evening.
