Hi all, I had an accident last week as I hit a Volkswagen Up with my motorcycle and in that moment we decided not to involve insurance as we thought that the damage on the car wouldn’t cost that much (I was wrong) and also the insurance on my motorcycle is only 3rd party so they wouldn’t cover mine anyways (damage on my motorcycle is small as I just need to spray the front panel).
The driver of the Volkswagen went to a sprayer/panel beater and got quoted that the repair cost will be 300eur or even more (as it seems that it does not have to be sprayed only but there is also some damage internally – I don’t know how it’s possible as I hit the car mainly with my tire and front panel which slightly touched the bumper).
I thought that the cost is very high but I don’t know. The driver will go to another panel beater to get another quote but than I will need to decide. You think the sprayer/panel beater has quoted the driver too much?
I don’t know if it would be better for me to open a claim or not, I’ve never opened one in the past 5 years and I got the motorcycle just this summer. Will that increase the insurance cost on my 2 motorcycles and car (they are all insured with mapfre)?
Sorry for long post.

Spray and most probably clips got broken.
Is it just one body part? I was quoted 250 eur two years ago for my Renault bumper. (Bumper to bumper, hit on the back end). Seems like a fairish price if clips got knackered too.
