  1. I know nato already said they would “respond” if their was evidence of sabotage, but if their “response” is just gonna be a stern letter or a few worthless sanctions, then what’s the point in responding at all.

  2. Then FIND THE SHIP that dragged it’s anchor over them then

    It’s easy

  3. Estonia media is claiming it was a Chinese ship and Estonia wants to cover it up to not hurt relations with the country. I don’t know anything about Estonian media, but are they usually accurate on this stuff?

  4. The West is looking weaker and weaker by the day, when this shit just doesnt have any consequences.. its a literal attack on infrastructure, for the third time now and nothing happens. Every autocracy is getting enbolden watching us and the lack of action.

  5. seems like someone wants to cut off estonia from northern europe

  6. I’d imagine they’re still determining (more confirming at this point most likely) how it got damaged and whether or not it was on purpose. Those cables are deep, I don’t know the depth along that area, but the only thing I can imagine is someone dragging their anchor over it. That’s assuming it’s at a depth where some ships anchors could reach of course. That being said, the chance of it being a genuine accident is pretty damn low. I’d assume those (and most) cables are marked on most charts to keep people from anchoring over/around them and such. Then you have the statistical chance of a ship both managing to anchor right over and manage to damage it.
