Rybar says that elements from Ukraine’s 35th and 36th Marine Brigades have captured the town of Poima and are fighting for Pishchanivka on the left bank of the Dnipro river in Kherson Oblast with the aid of artillery and FPV strikes.

  1. That’s beginning to look like a successful and expanding bridgehead. Whether this operation was originally meant as a distraction or not, it might turn into the third frontline and the opening of a push towards Crimea.

  2. Poima looks to be about 18 houses on the map. Doesn’t appear to be a significant tactical gain yet…too easy to be targeted with indirect.

  3. I wouldn’t trust anything rybar says. He’s been so off ever since the Kremlin got to him. He’s likely purely a propaganda pawn.

  4. It is too good to be true. But it’s a logical point of attack because if Ukraine cut the road behind Poima, they would cut a whole western occupied part from supply. This would be huge because AFU could starve occupiers as they starved them on the right bank of the Dnipro River.

  5. I’ll be skeptical until I hear from the AFU *but* if it turns out to be true, Ukraine has taken in one night at least twice as much territory as the rashists in Avdivka in a week with ungodly losses.
