The irony is that it describes very well what Turkey did in Cyprus, but it’s the exact opposite of what Israel did in Gaza: they _left_ it in 2005, _dismantled_ every settlement there, every Israeli soldier left, and that’s exactly what led Hamas to power. So if anything, Israel should be blamed for _not_ occupying Gaza.
Exactly what Turkey has done with the exception of israeli settlers being armed religious zealots from usa, who came to kick the home owner themselves
