Hi, I am renting an apartment that comes with a private garage. It has electric garage door which comes with 2 remotes. Remotes stopped working randomly and were not operating the door. I was trying to make it work but to no avail. And just now I was taking out my car and the garage door decided to randomly close on my car damaging the trunk and the back mirror where I got some scratches on both. I powered the garage door off and it is open now.
Need help with 2 things:
1. Who is liable or responsible? Can i raise the issue with the property agent / owner or they wouldn’t be liable? In case I contact my car insurance, they will fix but result in premium increase of about 15%…
2. Is there a way I can repair the scratches myself with a quick solution.
