“£6,000 for people on the boats, making total profits that sometimes went above £200,000 per crossing.”
“Hewa Rahimpur, 30, was sentenced to 11 years in prison and fined €80,000 at a court in Bruges, Belgium.”

What a pathetic sentence. So he’s fined less than he earned.
Need to start charging the asylum seekers food, health care and board. If they can afford to pay 6 grand each to come over. They can afford to pay for their food, health care and rent.
Pathetic sentence. Throw him in a prison with a lot of far right extremists.
I hope they track down the 10000 and send them back to where theyve come from.
The sentences I’ve seen handed out in the UK are generally 2 years for people smuggling across the Channel so this is actually really good. Thanks Belgium. Better than anything our justice system could do.
