This is the most in depth attempt to verify “Russian sources”, and I appreciate the attempt. Still have no idea if true
The article is quoting Russians exclusively.
Per the article:
>Kyiv Post found no reports in the public domain of Ukrainian army attempts to deploy ferries, assault bridges or other means capable of supporting the transfer of heavy military equipment like tanks, artillery or infantry fighting vehicles to the Dnipro’s left bank.
Again, this whole thing feels like Russian bloggers were told “we need a victory after the Adviivka shitshow, so lets make up a Ukrainian attack so we can defeat it”. They’ve done this before.
I’ll continue to call this BS until there are Ukrainian photos of ZSU in Poima or beyond.
Strange place to do a proper landing, I mean, yeah you have the rail bridge that might be “repairable” in short order, but other than that? Swamps, bogs and dirt roads.
Well, we don’t know if it’s true because they’re Russian sources, and even if they are, the generals will have a better grasp on the situation than I could ever hope to.
Still, my guess, assuming it’s true, is this is either a test of what Russian defenses remain on the left bank, or it’s a distraction to try and draw away supplies from the Zaporizhia front.
Interesting that it is a marine group digging in, not a special ops making a raid. At the worst, it could be a jab at Russia, to pin more of their troops in the west. If Russia fails to respond the marines simply dig in deeper, and maybe expand. Nice conundrum for the Moscovites!
