Hi
I am living in a Studentenwerk apartment in Germany. I was boiling milk on the induction and didn’t realise until it spilled over.
Now the induction has got markings on it. Can these come off? Which cleaning agent should I use?
Thank you.

Yeah, no, that’s not induction, that’s just your standard old-fashioned electric stovetop. There’s special cleaning products for this, “Kochplattenreiniger” or something slong those lines is what you’re looking for. Will still require a fair amount of elbow grease, though. And even then, I wouldn’t guarantee that you can get them spotless.

Get the cooker clean inexpensively but efficiently
The household remedy that even grandmother knew is good old baking soda. Simply add two to three tablespoons of baking soda to about 120 ml of boiling water and rub the mixture onto the cooker top with a cloth or sponge.
You can also use salt to loosen light encrustations. Simply put a little of it on the surface to be treated – which should already be a little warm – and rub it in with a damp cloth or sponge.
Oven spray also makes life difficult for encrustations. Simply spray it on the hob, let it soak in and then simply wipe away the dirt.
Another very inexpensive and effective remedy for your dirty hobs is toothpaste. To get into nooks and crannies, it is best to use a simple toothbrush.
If there are slight rust stains on your stovetop, simply wipe it with a cloth and some Vaseline.
This is not “induction”, btw.

Get a “flüssige Scheuermilch” from a discounter (ALDI, LIDL, etc.) or dm/Rossmann/Müller. My personal favourite: https://www.amazon.de/Viss-Scheuermilch-Reinigungsmittel-nat%C3%BCrlichen-Reinigungspartikeln/dp/B09XBMZKYT/
Scrub with a sponge like this: https://www.amazon.de/gp/bestsellers/drugstore/64741031/ – also available at the above stores.
Scheuermilch and lots of rubbing.
