This is insane. Driver behaviour results in reduced offences but deaths rising because… reasons?

Why reduce speed limits if we’re all so great?

  1. Where are these metrics coming from? Who is compiling the metrics showing better driver behaviour?

  2. I really can’t decide if Helen McEntee is so dense light bends round her or a complete vacuum.

  3. Fingers pointed at the people constantly. The conditions of our roads are absolutely atrocious. The government in my opinion are to blame. The sheer amount of money made from taxing every car in ireland twice, once at the pumps and to the revenue directly.
Where is that money going exactly?

  4. I honestly don’t understand this sub. On every other thread there is a consensus here that more people are driving recklessly with the likes of speeding or phone usage. But when it’s officially said, everyone suddenly disagrees.

  5. Is it me or is every minister currently in a job utterly incompetent.

  6. “Not enough enforcement responsible for falling road traffic prosecutions,” fixed it for ya Helen,

  7. I know most of them are career politicians and couldn’t really give two fucks about the public. But Christ on a bike this one takes the fucking biscuit.

  8. Why would anyone ever believe a single thing Minister McEntee says? She has at no point demonstrated the competence or understanding required to be in the position to which she has been appointed, and the fact that she’s still there shows that the people making decisions in this Government don’t regard job capability to be any sort of priority, but instead only value personal political benefits.

If they don’t care about the protection and security of the people of this island, why should we believe they care about anything but themselves.

  9. What a dreadful, dreadful politician. Bare faced lying to us. A shameless falsehood. This must be very difficult to read for anyone that knows someone who died, or who was even involved in a serious road traffic incident. Shame on you, Ms McEntee.
