I am sure the government will take that under advisement.
But most likely just keep with the Baba Yaga routine.
> In recent months, the equality watchdog has issued new guidance and provided policy advice to the government. Most controversially, in April, the EHRC published a letter advocating for the category of sex as a protected characteristic to be defined as “biological sex” under UK equality law – a move which left trans people “horrified” and fearing for their legal rights.
Someone’s going to have to help me out with this one. I thought the argument was *sex* was biological, but *gender* is a social construct. So why would defining sex as biological be a problem?
I don’t support a ban on conversion therapy just putting that there, but my question is (because I don’t get it?)
Would including trans people not mean that they can’t get gender reassignment?
It’s sad but with the Tories being so against the EHRC means that they are even less likely to do this now. You’d hope this would be a saviour for trans people, however the Tories can now whip up hate against trans people and European bureaucrats in one move. Their voters will love the opportunity to get riled up like this.
