I‘ve got this 2€ but I think it is fake. It weights and looks exactly like 2€ but there are no stars on the edge and it not says “euro” like usual.

  1. No, that’s not a fake. It’s an italian 2 Euro piece.

All Euroes no matter the country they are minted in can be used for legal payment in all euro countries. This means that you can get all kinds of euros from all possible euro countries and they still are a legit payment method here. This one, for example, is anniversary print of Dante Alighieri from italy and could be a special print where you are. Some collectors pay good money for cerain rare or misprinted motives, so you can check for their value online. But other than that, it’s a regular euro you can pay with.

  2. It’s a normal Euro from Italy: [https://www.ecb.europa.eu/euro/coins/2euro/html/index.de.html](https://www.ecb.europa.eu/euro/coins/2euro/html/index.de.html)

Every European country is allowed to design one side of the coins the way they want. There are regular ones and special editions, for exeample to celebrate an anniversary: [https://www.ecb.europa.eu/euro/coins/comm/html/index.de.html](https://www.ecb.europa.eu/euro/coins/comm/html/index.de.html)

They can all be used to pay, in every country that has the Euro.
