  1. >“Ageing, well-known politicians and also business leaders are approached and courted with nice trips to China and special treatment with the expectation that they will convey a friendly image of China,”

    >However, as a relatively fresh face, Krah is an atypical case, since Beijing tends to prefer so-called “Grey Beards” – seasoned, influential parliamentarians and business leaders.

Genuinely surprised it’s being spelled out so blatantly: The gerontocracy is selling us all out.

Plus ca change, but never so pointed out before.

  2. Big surprise. Qatar kinda really showed what can happen. China has more $ and are even less scrupulous.

  3. Anyone taking CCP money should be name and shamed. There should be a website with constant updates on politicians and business leaders that’s on the CCP payroll.

  4. Australia already had a scandal where CCP conducted years of operations to compromise major political parties. No surprise CCP would try out the same trick on us.

  5. Add russia to the list and you have “corruption bingo”.

Something should have been done 15 years ago, not now… It’s the same with the “open doors” policy we have in the EU… Too little, too late.

These days is more about damage control and less of “worrying”.
