Someone put this sign up recently and it’s definitely a neighborhood rather than any authority. It has the website where it was bought from printed on it.
I’ve had my bike in this spot loads before. There’s nowhere else to lock it half the time. It’s 100% not in the way, it’s even behind some sort of box (not blocking it).
So, am I in the wrong? I’m tending to think that it’s not causing harm so why should I pay attention to this random sign. Can I get in any kind of bother next time I need to use the space?

You attache your bike to someone else’s property so the owner of the property will have it removed. Good luck a) finding the owner of the property and b) finding out after that where they stored your bike.
The authority in this case can be a private person, like the owner of this property and fence. Where they get their signs doesn’t tell you that they don’t have a legitimate reason to forbit putting your bike there. So yes, you are in the wrong, you should pay attention to this sign because this fence and space is owned by someone who doesn’t want your bike there and if you don’t remove it they might take steps to remove it themselves.
Probably nothing will happen due to the general disinterest and impotence of any authority or landlord. More likely to get stolen.
However, it is somewhat anti-social to store property in a communal area. I have seen whole tangles of bicycles locked up in public spaces in a heap. It can get out of hand.
Yes, for more than one reason. You are also using a terrible lock, wrongly.
