As a Greek, you just told me our debt is going to go waaaay up again
Haha almost worthless curency, hyperinflation knocking on the door and still spending the biggest sum for military.
Can’t blame them. Planet earth feeling like it’s turning into planet thunderdome. Just hope the world doesn’t go to shit.
Who are they supposed to defend against? Inside mutiny from democrats?
I understand why, Europe definitely needs to do the same. Its going to get ugly real soon. But also, turkey has already alot of economical problems. Dont know if this is the best step.
Doesn’t mean much when their inflation rate is about half of that.
This probably makes sense for Turkey to do regardless if whether Erdogan or opposition parties were in power. Just look at their neighbourhood.
Guess it really depends on where that money is going e.g investments into more wages, training, rnd, building, importing? It notes an increase of exports to 85% and 6B to 11B but where are the looking to sell to?
Also interesting given how worthless Lira has become over the last years.

Adjusted to local prices and costs with [military spending parity](https://cepr.org/voxeu/columns/debating-defence-budgets-why-military-purchasing-power-parity-matters), this is a crazy number for Turkey and an unprecedented increase.
