Radio Svoboda published first high-res satellite imagery of the aftermath of Ukrainian strikes with ATACMS missiles with cluster warhead on the Russia-controlled Berdyansk Airport on Tuesday night. In total, Russia appears to have lost from 6 to 8 helicopters

  1. It looks like 4 others haven’t moved, which I think means 5 are gone (these photos aren’t quite as wide angle as the pre-attack photos).

    So either 5 are out on sorties, or they were able to evacuate 5 to safer bases. If the latter that would seem to indicate perhaps 4 additional birds are too damaged to operate safely. Pure speculation of course.

  2. Bro, where are all the aviation nerds at? I’ve seen these dudes look at the shadow of plane flying at 20,000 feet and be like “It’s obviously a F16B block 20, you can clearly see the outline of the PW-220 engine, the fact you confused it with a F16C block 32 should fill you with shame!”.

    I wanna know what helis got got lol.
