George Clooney, Scarlett Johansson, Tyler Perry and Other Restless A-List Actors Pressure SAG-AFTRA to Get a Deal

    As someone who’s worked in the industry for the better part of two decades on the VFX side I can say without any hesitation that the studio executives are terrible and incredibly overpaid.

    But so are the top actors and directors. Even the greatest cinematographers, editors, costume designers, or makeup artists have teams behind them that makes this all go. Your favorite cinematographer has a group he or she has worked with for years that they trust.

    There is no single person on a set who deserves to make as much as the top actors and directors do. If DiCaprio makes 10 million for Killers of the flower moon he’s still going to be fine. Making 30 is obscene which is what he did make.

    It’s a team effort. No actor is going to give a good performance with a shit script. No performance survives bad editing and no editing can makeup for terrible lighting, sound or camera work.

    Actors and directors are important but to make as much as they do is insane. So if you want to help, take a pay cut and force the studios to give that money to your crew. Set the example for the executives to follow and force that into the contract.

  2. Tyler Perry should keep his mouth shut, seeing as he was a scab during the 2008 WGA strike and also fired TV writers who were trying to join the WGA.

  6. The only A-list actor in this picture is Clooney. Tyler is more of a B+ and Scarlett is lesser the B-list. If anyone can tell me a really good movie/ show that she has been other than a comic book movie please let me know.
