I was under the impression that the bus was being followed and harrassed wherever it went in the area, so this is basically like someone being chased by an attacker calling 911 and being told by dispatch “oh, just stop being chased”.

Texas’ current leadership encourages this kind of state sponsored terrorism. Imagine the lack of response local San Marcos residents must experience regularly. At the end of the day there were Texans on that bus and their politics cannot play a factor in whether or not they are deserving of police protection against harassment.

But then they are also going out of their way to try prevent students at Texas State Univ. from voting. Students sued last year. San Marcos said that the voting center would only be open for a few hours…did not go well for the State.

The individual people named in the suit should also have to pay that $100,000 to each person on that bus.
