A $30,000 fine is not enough to deter them or any other company from repeating this behavior again and again. It should have been a minimum of $300,000 and even that is probably not enough. I’m disgusted by these companies. I’m even more disgusted by the states that have passed laws to allow protections for young people to be thrown aside.
“Punishable by fine” means “legal for a price”.
This is the “traditional values” the GOP is always going on about.

They shipped all warehouse work over seas so kids can build their products for half the price it cost to pay an American worker. Now they complain people don’t want to work, so they just hire kids here.
The truly tragic part of this story is that they were only fined $30k… our regulatory environment is a joke.
These conservatives say they need to prevent immigrants from taking jobs and driving wages down. How is a grown man supposed to get a decent wage if he has to compete with kids working for allowance money?
