  1. Get them in debt paying for school lunches, work them to the bone in factory jobs until they just drop out of school. I gurantee they target groups based on income and race too. Stop trying to reinvent slavery Southern states

  2. Was he properly compensated with “experience” though?

  3. Hey look! Actual children being put in danger. Surely this will be headlining on FoxNews any time now…

  4. What kind of parents allow their children to work like this?

  5. Let me guess, the same people yelling “let kids be kids!” have no issues with this.

  6. Republicans have openly supported child labor for years. Remember when they argued for making poor kids into their school janitors?

  7. Kids in industrial settings is bad news. A teenager died in a sawmill recently.

Driving a tractor on a family farm can be ok if the hours aren’t excessive but my grandfather lost a finger to a combine

  8. Parents allowing their kids to work at 11. What a sad life.

  9. A $30,000 fine is not enough to deter them or any other company from repeating this behavior again and again. It should have been a minimum of $300,000 and even that is probably not enough. I’m disgusted by these companies. I’m even more disgusted by the states that have passed laws to allow protections for young people to be thrown aside.

  10. This is the “traditional values” the GOP is always going on about.

  11. Isn’t that ironic, it’s not immigrants stealing American jobs now, it’s eleven year olds!

I guess a bunch unemployed warehouse workers are gonna show up and give ‘em a big beat down.

And seriously, what kind of adult managers and executives would seriously hire little kids like this with any sense of pride, pat themselves on the back at church, and hang with their own eleven year olds at home while getting away with this despicable behavior?

  12. Working their way through elementary school. But, not old enough to vote or drive a car or chose their pronouns.

  13. I’ll be honest, at age 11, if I’d been allowed to drive a forklift, that would’ve been the best day ever. Of course, the bit where I’m having to work full-time due to poverty would be a downside.

  14. Kentucky Republicans to retroactively lower the age to drive a forklift to 9, and to work full time to 6.

  15. “Protect the kids!”

    -GOP

“So they can work without pay!”

    -Also the GOP

  16. They were fined less than the annual salary of one adult full time worker which is probably less than what they saved by employing children in those two positions. Not much of a deterrent.

  17. And let me guess – paid about $5 an hour? A capitalist’s dream.

  18. Just so we understand, children are not capable of making adult decisions.

  19. They shipped all warehouse work over seas so kids can build their products for half the price it cost to pay an American worker. Now they complain people don’t want to work, so they just hire kids here.

  20. The truly tragic part of this story is that they were only fined $30k… our regulatory environment is a joke.

  21. These conservatives say they need to prevent immigrants from taking jobs and driving wages down. How is a grown man supposed to get a decent wage if he has to compete with kids working for allowance money?

  22. Gotta love them red states. They love their child labor.

  23. Right, but did that 11 yr. old child earn enough to get the whole family thrown off Medicaid, SNAP, WIC, school lunch, and HUD? If not, it was all just for nothing, wasn’t it?

  24. Mann.. you know damn well these kids aren’t volunteering to work at age 11. Have some shitty ass parents sending them out to a dangerous job because they don’t want the hassle of them being in the house..

    Crazy man..

  25. The republicans don’t give a dam about children’s health, safety, education and defiantly not their happiness
