2S1 “Gvozdika” self-propelled guns are being delivered en masse to Yevpatoria. Due to serious losses the Russians are forced to use outdated equipment. This technology is not new at all and is far from suitable for current combat operations.

  1. What I read was they use 122 ammo. Russian supplies were exhausted but now they have N Korean supplies so they are moving them up.

  2. Who made up that comment? The 2S1 might be old but is still very suitable and proven reliable. Ukraine is also using it.

  3. maybe its not state of the art, but even an outdated weapon can kill… like someone wrote in another post some days ago: as long as they can be parked somewhere and blindly fire into enemy lines they can be used to kill (i think it was worded a bit different, but thats the gist of it)

  4. come on guys, drive towards ukrainians and hope they spend gmlrs rocket and not some cheap drone

  5. They still can kill Ukrainians and I am pretty sure Ukraine would love to use them if they had them in stock

The narrative of considering it laughable that Russia is using outdated stuff is silly. Every single tank is still better than having no tank.

They may be old, outdated and all, but they can still kill and protect.

You guys would talk much differently if Ukraine had the same on stock

  6. Well, brace yourselves, folks! It seems we’re upgrading our artillery game with some heavy metal – the 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled guns are rolling in, ready to bring the boom to the battlefield. 🌩️💥

  7. That’s what happens when your artillery attrition rate is 25+ per day for 6+ months…well done Ukraine.

  8. Numbers still matter a bit though. They really love to play that roulette huh.

  9. Yes, even an old weapon can kill. and it is also true that the Ukrainian army also uses these weapons. But neither of these is a sign of quality. at maximum distance (approx. 15km) they are quite inaccurate. They must operate within range of FPV drones for effective fire and are easy targets for Ukrainian counter artillery. Apart from that, even the best weapon is only as good as the training of the crew.

  10. Could be because this caliber is very common in north Korea

  11. These things are like a tin can, cluster munitions can take them out. Give themselves 4 minutes on the front line.

  12. Yup, made 1st in 1972. Shoots? Shoots and kills. They have such large piles of this shit after the ussr collapse that they don’t care.
