I advertised for a computer to sell on FB marketplace / Tutti / Anibis etc. Buyer wants to give cash to the mailman who will then pickup the good and give me the cash. Is this a scam?

  1. This is a screenshot of a response I got from4 different people who said they wanted to buy a computer from me, that I posted online.

Since they all said the same thing (“I am sick / far away / I cannot come ….) I wanted to have people’s opinion on this.

  2. Yes, it sounds very scammy.

    It doesn’t even make sense.
Why not just send it as a normal parcel for 7.- or per Einschreiben for 14.- or something.

  3. It looks fishy.

If someone isolates, you can still very safely exchange goods:
Both wear masks and meet in front of the house. Hold 4m distance. The buyer goes in the middle, lays the money on the ground and then returns to initial position (or sends it live by Twint). Then, the seller positions the goods and steps back to initial position. Then the buyer picks it up and controls it. If everything is good, wink your arms and transaction is complete.

Very safe and zero chances for picking up infections.
