Ya think? he even admitted during the interview that he is accused.
> The BBC has admitted Alan Dershowitz should not have been interviewed as an “impartial analyst” on the Ghislaine Maxwell verdict given his own ties to the allegations.
>
> BBC World News drew criticism on Wednesday after having the lawyer on to discuss Maxwell being convicted on sex-trafficking charges even though Jeffrey Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre has alleged she was forced to have sex with Dershowitz by Maxwell and Epstein, which he denies. Dershowitz has also served as a lawyer for Epstein. On Thursday, BBC News said the interview fell short of its editorial standards.
>
> “Last night’s interview with Alan Dershowitz after the Ghislaine Maxwell verdict did not meet the BBC’s editorial standards, as Mr. Dershowitz was not a suitable person to interview as an impartial analyst, and we did not make the relevant background clear to our audience,” BBC News said. “We will look into how this happened.”
>
> Dershowitz was introduced on BBC World News as a constitutional lawyer who would be providing analysis about Maxwell’s conviction, though Dershowitz brought up the fact that Giuffre has “accused me” during the appearance as he claimed the government “didn’t believe that [Giuffre] was telling the truth.” MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan described the interview with Dershowitz as “one of the most shocking things the BBC has done in years.”
>
> Dershowitz also appeared on Fox News Wednesday after Maxwell’s conviction. Host Pete Hegseth began the discussion by telling viewers, “Full disclosure: Professor Dershowitz once represented Epstein and is currently being sued by Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre for defamation.” He went on to ask for Dershowitz’s takeaway on the verdict “as someone who has been caught up in this.”
BBC is a major player in sexual abuse by the rich and famous
An apology is not enough here. The process by which this interview happened needs to be made public, and those responsible must go.
BBC protect paedophiles so much, they call up paedophiles to cover for other paedophiles.
Fuck that’s a bad call.
“Man accused of sexual misconduct by a victim of Maxwell and Epstein, who gave Epstein access to his bank account?
Yeah, sure get him on, his opinion is the one we need right now!”
What the fucking fuck?
I’ve just had enough with this organisation. It started with their ‘reporting’ on trans issues and platforming hate groups and no platforming us. It continued with their boris worship. And now they’re acting like the royal families PR firm. They are not impartial, they are a tool of the establishment that protects the establishment. I don’t know why anyone is still paying their licence.
Dershowitz is a nasty piece of work anyway.
He was shunned by the great and good at the Hamptons (a very upmarket NY state playground for the rich) for his pro Trump stance.
He vindictively destroyed Norman Finkelstein’s academic career following a debate they had (Finkelstein accused him of plagiarism and provided proof).
He was on BBC laying into Corbyn for being an anti-semite. I saw that interview, it was nasty.
He is a highly regarded Harvard Professor but nasty.
This is the same BBC that hosted a climate change denying conspiracy theorist and gave them the same credence as a climate scientist in the interest of “balance”. Might as well hear the opinion of an alleged rapist on the trial that he’s implicated in, it certainly tracks with all the other shit they do. Why am I paying for a TV license again?
Yes,It Just happend,like an accident /s
TV Station are business, and business like BBC don’t like bad publicity.
What happen?
Did dershowitz Just called BBC and said “call me After the sentence “and they “Yes ,Sir!” ?
Or It was Just a way to shit on Prince Andrew Accuser, and let Dershowitz defend himself?
Who ordered the interview?
And why?
Wtf is happening with the BBC, it’s like they’re turning into Fox – it’s trumpesque being pushed by Boris.
The BBC IS NOT worth a licence fee & why I’ve never had one.
Probably a simple mistake, BBC doesn’t exactly have a history of giving abusers a platform.
They do this a lot. Lots of “mistakes”. Its called shitty journalism and not checking your sources.
They didn’t clarify why he wasn’t an impartial analyst did they.
How many times is the BBC going to be directly linked to and defend paedophilia before we start asking whether Doctor Who and the occasional Attenborough docu-series is really worth it?
Yikes, appalling from bbc. I shouldn’t be surprised..
Sigh. It’s just a basic research failure. How could one of the largest and best resourced news organisations on the planet make such a dumb error?
Suspect pressed was put on BBC by other quarters to interview him …
Quite amazing that people are actually buying the BBC spin that these are “mistakes” that are happening because of budget cuts.
“Daily Prophet admits it shouldnt have interviewed Voldemort as an ‘impartial analyst’ regarding the treatment of muggles.”
The BBC and all organisations make mistakes. Personally I’m not a fan of the BBC at all…far too many interests showing in their news imo….but I’ll defend them here. It was clearly a mistake. Someone messed up and the BBC will look into it. Everyone calling for the end of the BBC and making it out to be a conspiracy….its not. Its what happens when you actually work in a big company
The BBC have fucked up so much recently. It’s really saddening to see
BBC keep doing this. The other week they had a relation of the ex-Chilean dictator on to talk about the Chilean election as a “standard voter”. I usually love the BBC but recently it keeps picking up L’s.
Even The Guardoan are still using quotations to add doubt- and calling Guiffe an ‘alleged victim’.
I see they’ve followed up the apology with an interview with Maxwell’s brother who continues to profess her innocence on Radio 4 today

If you think that’s funny check out this [completely average voter](https://twitter.com/marcusbarnett_/status/1472933253132734467) that the BBC interviewed to get his views on the Chilean election.
