So a bit of context. I’m a student, not Slovenian, of course had to get a residence permit. Ihave some experience as l’ve been on Erasmus in Slovenia before. Last time was here paid 16€ for this permit. This time around it was 70€. How come?

If I’m reading the law correctly it says you are exempt from paying the administrative fee for your *first* time as an exchange student.

It doesn’t.
The permit itself costs 50 €. The admin fee of giving out the permit costs 4,5 € and the permit card costs 15,47 €.
Somebody has to pay those clerks that work hard between 8-12am

Man if you go to USA you pay like 1500€ …
This is legit the cheapest residence permit or visa that I know of. Most places are in the hundreds or if the visa allows you to work in the thousands.
Yeah, it is a bit much if you are from EU. I live in Spain and I paid about 10 euros.
Im not from the EU but a student here as well. Also paid 70€
It’s a bargain, as it also includes clean air, beautiful nature and low criminality.
the higher price also keeps people away, the worst animals to deal with.
Much better than any amusement park IMHO.
