Ferguson ferry design ‘more complex’ than warships

  1. Well warships are designed to be destroyed in war, or at least serve a couple of tours before being sold off second hand to a developing nation.

Our ferries need to serve hundreds of trips over decades carrying total of thousands of people. Not all built like hard sailors, some of them may be very vulnerable indeed.

I understand our Government wanted to spend every penny making sure these ferries are top quality. It’s what they were elected to do.

Better than the billions squandered on Tory PPE by Westminster.

  2. Is the design is somehow more complex than the latest generation of warship, then some folks majorly fucked up.

It’s a ferry for fucks sake.

  3. It’s the electronic countermeasures and the jump jet vertical takeoff stuff that makes the ferries so complex.

  4. No point In giving management a jigsaw puzzle for chrimbo then 🤔

  5. A top of the range anti submarine warfare frigate designed to be as quiet as possible to hunt down submarines equipped with advanced offensive and defensive weapons as well as holding a helicopter and smaller boats is less complex than a car ferry, ok

  6. List of things the Scottish Government and Local Authorities found were “more complex” and hence late, over budget, not to specification or not finished.

    1. Ferries
    2. Trams
    3. Dualling a main road
    4. Building a bridge over the Forth that doesn’t ice up and close.
    5. Infrastructure to get to Glasgow Airport
    6. The Scottish Parliment building.

  7. I find it hard to believe a ferry is more complex than a modern warship with all the additional weapons systems etc that have to be incorporated into the design and construction. Just building in safe storage for explosives is probably more complex than a ferry in itself.
