A civil fraud trial stemming from a multi-million dollar lawsuit against Donald Trump entered its fourth week with an appearance from one of his own former longtime attorneys, now a star witness against him in a case that could see his business empire in New York collapse.

Here’s what I don’t understand about this fraud case. If my house is valued at $500k and I have a $300k mortgage, I can get a home equity loan for up to $200k. But if I go to the bank and say my house is worth $2 million, give me a $1 million home equity loan, they’d #1 have an appraisal and #2 laugh in my face.
Didn’t the banks do any type of appraisals on Trump’s loans? Or are they also in on the scam?
