I really wish they would quantify this. Like kill anyone associated with Hamas? Kill the major regional leaders? Leave them with to little power to continue to run Gaza?
Something tells me they could keep bombing at the level they are now, bring in a massive ground force and still a year from now, not have killed all the Hamas members.
IDK, id feel a whole lot better if Bibi didnt have such a vested interest in drawing out this conflict for as long as possible.

Terrorists are like stubborn weed. You can hack them and stomp them and so long as there is piece left over it will regenerate.
This time, Israel’s renowned intelligence service failed spectacularly and noting its past practice of releasing terrorists brought about this disaster, I seriously doubt Israel will negotiate right away and instead bite the bullet to do maximum damage to Hamas no matter the cost of collateral damage to civilians and lives of hostages taken.
Get them all
Hamas delenda est.
As it should. Copying from another thread:
I’ve seen the mentions of 9/11, or Pearl Harbor, as a comparison. But even they fall considerably short. To make it proportional, what happened on October 7th would be as if around **45,000** Americans died on 9/11, with some 6,300 taken hostage. And, not to diminish the horrors of 9/11, the deaths aren’t due to buildings collapsing, but from death squads going door-to-door, often looking people straight in the eye and putting a bullet through their head. In front of their families. And all this from a hostile force that is right at your border, not thousands of kilometers away from home as most Westerners have experienced war since WW2.
To have people call for a ceasefire after an attack of this scope is a level of disconnect that’s astonishing. Not one country on Earth — not even the most moralizing Western ones — would accept this, consider de-escalation, and agree to continue living alongside such an organization.
And because I feel the need to add this clarification to my comments about this topic, otherwise people would be inclined to toss me into this camp or that, because the most complicated conflict of our time that dates back over a century has been grossly, dangerously simplified: Fuck Netanyahu. Fuck messianic, religious Zionism. Fuck the settlements. Palestinians need their own state. The people in Gaza have a miserable life that no one should suffer. They have no hope and live in anguish. It’s terrible, and the situation should not, must not, continue like this.
After this war is done, Israel needs an immense paradigm shift in its policy, because its attempt at maintaining the status quo has blown up in its face, and is unjust towards Palestinians, no matter how tragic the history of violence is. I am not saying there is no blame on Palestinian leadership, both sides have suffered from poor leaders for many years, but Israel is in a better spot to pressure and move things.
Its time Israel lets the world know they aren’t fucking around anymore. Outside voices have held them back for 70+ years and that only resulted in more terrorists attacks against their civilians. Its time to wipe out the enemy for good.
A cease fire does absolutely nothing for Israel and gives all the leverage to terrorists. It says, ok your terrorism worked and we’re backing down. This invites every terrorist to join the next campaign and search for more hostages and murder more Jews. Make no mistake, the sole intent of Hamas is to murder every single Jew in Israel and destroy Israel. That’s written into their charter. The only path forward for Israel at this point is the worst choice – it’s war and it sucks.
Ceasefire is surrender to terrorism.
Only insane people would suggest it at this point.

Let’s hope so. Israelis and those in Gaza deserve it. Palestinians shouldn’t have to watch as a terrorist organisation tunnels under their cities, uses their children’s schools to store weapons, and fires rockets from outside their homes
Calling for cease fire is like saying to the terrorists ok we give up you win and thats not how you deal with terrorism and will only give them legitimacy to do this again and again
Of course. Hamas, like ISIS, cannot be allowed to control a state.
But is Israel attacking hamas?
Hamas leadership are safe in qatar, the fighers in their tunnels, with plenty of supplies. Theyve planned this for a long time, and even a fool would know theyve prepared.
Does the bombing of gaza, the use of chemical weapons on civilians, the destruction of almost half the homes in gaza, the military protection of settlers attacking the west bank, and the ethnic cleansing of gaza affect hamas? Does starving the civilian population and cutting power to hospitals affect hamas who have food and fuel in their bunkers?
Im no military general, but it looks like the Netenyahu reigimes actions seem focused on spilling palestinian civilians blood as vengance than they are at killing hamas fighters.
This isnt saying that oct7 wasnt a despicable crime, but the Israeli response hasnt been one of justice.
Good, no stopping until the terrorists are taken down and the hostages are released
Good. People who are calling for a cease fire don’t understand (or care) how badly this affects Israel. For the people who do understand, they do it maliciously. This is a race against time for Israel and if they want to accomplish anything, there will be no cease fire.
Keep strong, Israel. Kill them wherever you find them.
A ceasefire with Hamas is a crime against humanity.
Netanyahu has failed the people of Israel in his desperation to consolidate his power while attempting to diminish the integrity of the Israeli judiciary, and in doing so he opened the door and allowed Hamas to walk right in to terrorize, abduct, and kill Israeli citizens. Backing off now is not really an option for Netanyahu because he can not let Israel feel like he failed them twice.
Good they should not let up one bit
Of course not! People who call for a ceasefire display a truly astounding level of callousness and ignorance. Israel has just been violently, mercilessly attacked in the worst terrorist act of its history. No state on Earth would ever be expected to just shrug and say, “Well, war’s bad. Let’s do a ceasefire.” Israel has the right to defend itself—like any state anywhere on the planet—and to suggest otherwise by calling for a ceasefire is, at best, deeply offensive and myopic, and at worst, a bad faith antisemitic argument designed to invalidate Israeli statehood and sovereignty.
All the morons preaching for a “ceasefire” are basically telling Israel to let Hamas get away with slaughtering 1200 people.

Just say the quiet part out loud already, their actions have spoken already.
Supporting a ceasefire is supporting Hamas. They must be removed for the safety of both Palestinians and Israelis.
The world was empathizing with Palestine before the attacks. If Hamas is wiped out and a sane government made up of people who truly want a peaceful solution instead of just wanting to obliterate Israel then that will be on the table.
Hamas is holding Palestine back, not Israel. You will never get UN support with a terrorist organization in charge. Once they’re gone, actual believable peace talks and eventual solutions can be done.
However, let’s not pretend like it’s just Hamas holding innocent Palestinians hostage. Roughly half of the population supports Hamas and their attacks. There were thousands of people celebrating in the streets while carrying mutilated bodies. So wiping out Hamas doesn’t mean wiping out support for terrorism.
Out of all the stuff people say, the “they don’t even care about the hostages” when Isreal has been notoriously known for trading 100 people for 1 hostage in past times
How is bombing random people getting rid of Hamas?
Hope Hamas gets obliterated into dust.
A cease-fire without taking down Hamas would just give terrorists the idea that they can attack anyone for free.
How the fuck does anyone call a ceasefire after what happened? Was anyone calling on the US for a ceasefire after 9/11? I mean, we bombed a whole fucking country.
This is far worse than 9/11. What Hamas did is pure medieval shit. ISIS became irrelevant because the world killed so many of their leaders that leading ISIS was a de facto death sentence. Same needs to happen to Hamas.
Read: destroy Palestinians.
Go Israel. Should only cease fire when HAMAS release all hostages and surrender to Israel including their leader who live a luxury life at Qatar. Want cease fire, can. Meet the demand first
Even if that’s their goal, their actions are killing many civilians, including ~2000 children, and groups such as the [Red Cross have called the situation a ‘humanitarian crisis’](https://www.redcross.org.uk/stories/disasters-and-emergencies/world/whats-happening-in-gaza-humanitarian-crisis-grows).
>”At least 2,000 children have been killed in Gaza over the past 17 days, and a further 27 killed in the West Bank, with constant airstrikes reducing thousands of buildings across the Gaza Strip to piles of smoking rubble. A further 27 children were killed in Israel, according to Israeli media.” – https://www.savethechildren.net/news/least-2000-children-killed-gaza-airstrikes-continue-unabated
Even an Israeli Holocaust Scholar has raised the question of whether these actions could count as genocide: [“A Textbook Case of Genocide”: Israeli Holocaust Scholar Raz Segal Decries Israel’s Assault on Gaza](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWGGjLZNuyg)
America didnt cease fire for 20 years after 9/11. Gaza can deal with 6 months minimum.
Destroy Hamas
Just as would ever other country and army on the planet if attacked by their neighbour as Hamas did
So nothing new
Just sucks for the people of Gaza
Its weird that everyone keeps saying “dont attack Gaza, citizens are there” but refuse to actually give Israel some fucking idea of what they can do to attack Hamas while not killing civilians…
I mean…yeah. Of course. A ceasefire offers absolutely no benefit to Israel. This has turned into a perfect opportunity for Israel to get rid of Hamas once and for all, press the reset button on the Gaza territory, and finally secure some semblance of peace to southern Israel by the end of this for generations to come.
Do what you gotta do, Israel. We’re behind you 🇮🇱 Hamas doesn’t want and will never want peace. They want your destruction. If they or the Islamic world ever achieves that, they will come for the rest of us infidels next.
Even if by some cosmic intervention Israel agrees to the ceasefire, Hamas wouldn’t.
Good. After what they did Hamas should no longer exist
