How do citizens assemblies actually work? Will they be allowed discuss and look at all aspects of Drug use in Ireland? For example will they be allowed look at research and hear from experts calling for the complete legalisation of drugs like cannabis or is it possible that it will be set up in a way that limits discussion and therefore recommendations to things like decriminalisation instead? Legalisation and decriminalisation are very different things that people tend to not understand.
good, legalize, let it grow here and tax it, even create jobs for irish people. lets do it here
Legalise TREN!!! 💪🏻
Would be a massive mistake if they don’t sort out the bullshit drug driving “test” they running at the moment. Which they won’t.
I’m sort of getting annoyed with the citizens assembly process. Absolutely fantastic idea that enables a more comprehensive look at complex issues before policy is developed. Unfortunately, it also gives the government an independent body to hide behind whenever they want to avoid taking responsibility for controversial policy.
I rented a fourth floor airbnb in Madrid last year and as I pulled the curtains back to look out the balcony all I could see were tall cannabis plants there.
So the plan is to get a group of people coming together to discuss issues. Isn’t that why we elect a group of people to the Dail, to discuss issues?!
