A long time ago I was talking to a family member who was leaning towards Trump. That person was influenced somehow by the Dilbert guy, who made a second career out of sophistry and manipulation.
My family member was accordingly lenient beyond common sense and excused a lot of Trumps obvious flaws. He claimed that we can’t know what abilities Trump has, no matter how strong our intuition about his deficiencies are.
Early in Trumps presidency he had a visit by Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe, and you may remember that Trump took his earpiece out during Abe’s speech. The earpiece that he would get his translation of the speech through. This was one of the earlier indicators of Trumps raging narcissism in the White House.
This set off a conversation between myself and that family member, who argued that we can’t know what languages Trump speaks, and that it is perfectly possible that he does understand Japanese. We have no information to counter that.
I was of course incredulous. It is beyond my imagination that Trump understands or even speaks any language other than english. So I searched around for information on the internet abound the languages Trump speaks.
One beautiful answer I found was on Quora. To the question how many languages Trump speaks, the answer was “0.75”.
I could die happy if Trump got convicted and burst into tears at the hearing. He wouldn’t be mad cause he felt bad but because he got caught.
Trump is so screwed he has no genuine legal defence and it appears nobody involved is prepared to help him try and lie his way out of it.
I’m putting good money on Trump going to prison for this.
