That puts us at 113,185 cases this week. Highest weekly amount *recorded* since the pandemic started.
Emphasis on *recorded*. What you’re seeing is our testing capacity hitting a wall. Unless we can increase the amount we can test, this is likely around the highest you’ll ever see.
On top of that I would hazard a guess and say there’s also a large percentage who will only use an antigen due to how difficult it is to get a PCR and that it can now be used as proof to claim benefits.

**A list of previous weeks (Mon-Sun) for anyone interested**:
I’d say with the switch to the new rules around testing, there’ll be less negatives coming from PCRs and with NYE just behind us, surely we could go higher next week.
Oh shit.
Wonder if it’s going to be dropping the next couple days until it spikes and we see Christmas + New Years cases
CLOSE THE SCHOOLS
Can anyone remember what the highest amount we had in hospital was?
Saw something interesting.
This time last year, ICU numbers already doubled from the number in ICU on Christmas day. But this year it has actually gone down 2. Now that doesn’t mean we’re out of the woods yet, but does give a bit of hope
Theres a weekend effect with hospitals
That’s a palindrome!
So when do we go back to normal?
A LC student here, what are the chances for another lockdown for secondary schools?
>Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan said this week that over 90% of people in hospital and intensive care with Covid-19 are there for the management of the disease.
>Less than 5% of those in hospital or intensive care have ‘incidental’ (asymptomatic, non-infectious) disease.
Bruh tell Covid to take a break new year man
not divisible
Icu numbers still good. The variant is indeed weaker
Just let everyone get it. Only way we can move forward
If only one more person was in ICU; we’d have three palindrome numbers.
Herd immunity inbound
That’s down around 6000 thousand from yesterday, call me an optimist but at this rate there’ll be zero cases by Wednesday and the pandemic will be over.
I’d love to know how many people didn’t bother getting tested
I feel like the numbers must be way off. I’m lying at home with covid, my pcrs in the past week were negative but my antigen yesterday was positive. Must be so many in the same boat. You’re only counted if you have a positive pcr.

Anyone know the positivity rate?
