  1. You must have seen them. But did you think that they might disappear soon? These painted and forged swans. Deer and cats. Flowers and cartoon characters. All this imaginary art world at the gates of Ukrainian villages.

Two years ago, Volodymyr was riding his bicycle from Ternopil to the country through neighboring villages. On the way, he paid attention to the gate with swans. He decided to deviate from the route to find similar style gates and take a small series of pictures. On the same day, he came across a gate with flowers, vines, various animals and ornaments.

The artist remembered his idea half a year ago, when he was studying at the Viktor Marushchenko School of Photography. Volodymyr decided to develop the theme in a photo project about gates.

  2. I’ve only been in Ukraine a few times, but those gates always captured my attention. Thank you for sharing!

  3. The creative genes that some of the Ukrainian IT guys show .. Now I know 🙂

  4. This creativity is one of the first things I noticed as I started watching videos and pictures as this Russia began the terror attacks. Then, and now, I always notice the creative painting schemes Ukrainians will have on their fences and their homes. There will also be very creative shapes and designs of fences, not just color.

    Slava Ukraini!

  5. I like how tons of gates and fences are painted here. The US chooses flat colors at most. It’s rather boring.
