>Russian forces were relying on infantry, using small assault groups of 30 to 40 men, Shtupun said, giving Russia’s losses in the last six days as 2,500 dead and wounded in the area.
>”This is quite significant even for Russia, bearing in mind that they do not look after their own men,” Shtupun said.
>Vitaliy Barabash, head of Avdiivka’s military administration, said Russia was applying pressure from the north but was unable to get past a rail line under Ukrainian control.
Plenty of useful idiots in Europe. Why would they stop when the very people they want to destroy are cheering for them.
Hungary, Croatia, Slovakia, Germany, etc
I’m curious about a couple things, why is Russia trying so hard ro capture this city, and do we have any info on Ukrainian losses/how well they’re defending?
Avdiivka is a fortress, but Russia is attempting to encircle it, as they did in Bakhmut.
Apparently, Ukraine has already deployed the 1st Tank Brigade and the renowned 47th Mechanized Brigade to prevent this.
Good old “[a country we don’t like] [achieves something positive from their perspective] – BUT AT WHAT COST??” format of western media. It’s still a bit delicate subject to write about how the great Ukrainian counteroffensive hasn’t been exactly successful and I feel that media doesn’t exactly know yet how to handle this.
