Santander: Bank hands out £130m in Christmas blunder

  1. If a bank accidentally transfers money to someone, that person has to pay it back.

    If a person accidentally transfers money to someone, sorry there’s nothing that can be done. You should have checked where your were transfering it harder.

  2. Banks have fucked up enough in my lifetime. Its their fault, they can own it. What if it went to someone and they unwittingly spent some/all of it already, or mistook it for a bonus or something? Why is it their fault?

    People should be entitled to a percentage when this happens, to make up for being misled about their own finances owing to someone in a bank not being able to use a computer properly, or whatever causes these errors.

  3. Happened to one of my friends. Dude had his paycheck and Christmas bonus doubled. I wonder how long it’ll take for Santander to chase people up and get the money back
