  1. I thought all the prisoners were going to be fighting in Ukraine ….

  2. Wonder if they’re shipping in North Korean citizens to boost productivity. IIRC Russia has a few camps already doing that, they house/run North Korean workers in exchange for money I guess.

  3. Like the US, then?

“In 2021, more than 51,000 people held industry jobs, accounting for 6.5% of prison labor, researchers commissioned by the ACLU found.
Those workers are paid 30 cents to $1.30 an hour on average.

Incarcerated workers in prison industries programs generated goods and services worth $2.09bn nationally in 2021”

  4. Well thats going to work out well for them. Ruzzia really does like to fu@k itself.

  5. Konvikt Ivan working in the candy store inspires confidence

  6. It got them through then, it’ll probably get them through now. Much as I hate to say it, Russia is way tougher than we typically give credit. They will put up with almost anything no matter how miserable

  7. “No one wants to work camp anymore!” -Putin, probably

  8. And what happens when they run out of prisoners? New laws to imprison more people.

  9. Nothing has ever changed in russia. If you still believe russia will be a good country at some point in the future, I feel sorry for you.

  10. Prison labour and prison soldiers in a prison country. How fitting.

  11. We got 800k convicts here in Brazil.

What you say, Russia? We got the meat, you got the oil and tech… we could fix two problems in one fell swoop…

Or we could give Ukraine their own Wagner.

  12. All of the US uses prison labor. It’s the only loophole in slavery. Prisoners are allowed to be slaves in the U.S., right now, in 2023. It’s a major problem, as corporations enslave people in private prisons. If they choose not to work, they are put in solitary for months or years at a time. This is in the U.S. Now.

Yeah, Russians using prison labor is horrible. The practice should be banned in all countries.
