Surely there are craft that can quickly cross that carrying heavy armored equipment, whether by air or water, as the bridgehead expands enough to give some breathing room.
I’m not in any way saying it would be without risk. There’s no way to expand a bridgehead enough to get out of the range of artillery, let alone aircraft. But if you can get some modest, medium armor across, Bradley’s for example, and have supporting fire from the opposite shore, HIMARS and 155mm clusters…that ought to open a window for some heavier deliveries.
I am way too excited about this.
Too narrow for a mass crossing. Omaha beach was 6 miles wide.
Meanwhile, Russia continues throwing thousands against a rubbish heap in the other side of Ukraine.
