  1. Orban is now more isolated in the EU than ever before, and the EU expects more problems with Budapest

The defeat of Poland’s Law and Justice party and the ratification of Sweden’s NATO application by Turkey (which Hungary has not yet done) have further isolated the Hungarian prime minister. Orbán’s recent meeting with Putin in Beijing and the Hungarian prime minister’s comparison of the EU to the Soviet occupation further marginalized him.

EU diplomats believe that the problems with Hungary “are likely to become deeper and deeper, and increasingly threaten joint decisions on strategically important issues.”

Hungary will hold the EU Council presidency in the second half of next year, and there are already concerns in Brussels about how Budapest will use this role.

Hopefully, this will lead to more pressure on Orban on the issue of EU funds, because without money from Brussels, Hungary can do little and should be reminded as often as possible and pressured with this

  2. Funny when she says that when her husband does business with Russia and pretends she didn’t know about

  3. Are they threatning hungaria right now? What’s going to happen when EU’s parliament align with hungary in 2024. Will we be allowed to use removing tool towards them as well?

  4. Both NATO and EU need to realize that present day Hungary is something different from when they joined.

Years has passed and Orban knows exactly what he can do and dont do. And hes using it for maximum domestic effect. Just like Erdogan.

  5. Window with no PiS to fix one country veto before another authoritarian regime rises. GO!

  6. Can anyone explain why Orban and Putin have become tight?

  7. Yeah I don’t get that they had every advantage to prosper more than any other post socialist country and somehow they’re going towards being lower than Romania in gdp per capita and disliked by every EU member.

  8. Not “Hungary is becoming problem”, but Europe must finally decide what it is want?

Prosperous peaceful calm life? This is no longer possible. One of the main reasons for so many modern problems – European passivity and complacency of 1991-2021 years. This can’t go on any longer.

Decentralization? Only if Europe wants to return to where the First and Second World Wars began. To dozens of populist governments, almost always evolving towards fascism.

If this is so, and it is, then what exactly should Europe be like? The way it is now? Federation? Technocracy? Something else?
