This item is an example of a dare that went way too far. Back in 2009 drinks manufacturer Britvic were dared by marketing company Bragster to print 2.5 million Tango cans upside down. A mock-up of the can design was released to the website on April Fools’ Day that year and then the cans went into production a week later. Now, 2.5 million might sound like a lot, but Coca-Cola GB produce around 2.5 billion cans each year. That is billion with a ‘B’.

So for the remaining months of 2009 an estimated 50 million UK adults went about their business buying these cans, consuming the contents and then disposing of the can itself. That is all of them except for one, me. For some reason I didn’t drink mine, I couldn’t tell you why. But as a result of this, here it remains to this day. Unopened. Original. One of a kind. Rare. Unique.

This is your chance to own a truly unique piece of history. One which I in absolutely no way would suggest you actually consume once you have purchased it. It is after all somewhat past it’s “best before” date. This is one to keep. Forever. Showing it off to your friends in a display cabinet, I would suggest in your kitchen as it is not complete without it.

  3. I mean, there’s loads of different kinds of blokes, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s soft drink can fanatics. While 15 grand is a *lot*, I can’t laugh at someone for that. Everyone’s intrigued by everything, so some bloke who loves cans buying this… *isn’t* that extraordinary. Bragging rights, obviously, but people buy boxed copies of Super Mario Bros. for far more, so more power to anyone who may buy this.
