Hi!
I moved here last month and noticed that the wall near the window had mold. So I told the landlord ( which is a rental company) and they sent a company to clean and paint that wall.

But now it’s been a week and the mold has already started growing again. I open the windows often during the day and let the room ventilate. Only time the windows are closed for more than 5-7 hours is during the night.

What could be causing this?

  1. Humidity is too high, wateringress or a “koudebrug”. Or a combination.

No ventilation during 7 hours could be too long.

  2. Does that area feel could to the touch? Is it only in the bathroom or everywhere? Could be inadequate/incorrectly installed insulation which makes the area near the window cold which allows for condensation and thus mold.
Otherwise it can also be a genuine water leak somewhere, but that is unlikely if it happens to all windows.

  3. It’s possible there is a spot with bad insulation, so that spot is going to get cold resulting in condensation there and mold.
