Oh please, Slovak military industry will keep making weapons and ammunition for Ukraine. There’s too much money in it for Fico to pass up. They will just go there indirectly through countries like Germany, Denmark or Norway that paid for them. His Russophile, mostly elderly electorate is too stupid to understand such scheme.
Didn’t Slovakia send tanks, s-300 and planes to Ukraine, while Ukraine thanked them with almost dragging them to WTO court?
To be honest, Slovakia has probably already donated military aid to Ukraine, which it could provide. I doubt that they would send a lot more without Fico as well… Let’s not forget that this is a small country with its own militarily limited resources.

It’s a former diplomat who is retired after 2019. He is also an ethnic russian with questionable rhetoric in the past. Idk how he managed to keep chair of Minister of Foreign Affairs since 2014 though tbh

First of all, ex-diplomat. Hasn’t been in office since 2019.
Second of all – he is referencing the polls conducted in EU regarding the population views of different other countries, such as UK, US, China, Russia, etc. And yes, Slovaks had the most favourable views on Russia in all of Europe, even higher than Hungary (which scored quite low, actually). It was even brought up in this sub on multiple occasions.

First things first: guy in question is not a governmental official, but a former minister of foreign affairs, that currently does not hold any official position. So his opinion does not represent official state position in any shape or form.

According to Politico, many years ago when there was a gas crisis caused by Ukraine dispute with Russia, Ukrainian government under Tymoshenko humiliated Slovak delegation led by Fico when they came to beg for gas.
What can we as europeans do to change slovaks cause they think wrong?
