Cork is notorious for drivers who ‘interpret’ parking spaces that to the untrained eye are not parking spaces. MacCurtain Street has a particular issue with this recently. But Mama Mia… this must be the pinnacle!

  1. Sure I have seen cars inside shopping centers. Tis mad stuff

  2. Cork city centre pavement acreage is being stolen away by arrogant expansionist pubs and cafés enough already; next stop, cars and camper vans blocking them too, no doubt!

  3. We all know that double-yellow lines don’t count if you can get your car to the far side of them.

  4. And of course it’s an Avensis, I know drivers of German marques get a bad name but god the Avensis is up there with them for signalling a dickhead.

  5. What? You mean it’s not a sponsored, sheltered parking space for Guinness drinkers!?!

  6. Its a bit like the pubs “interpreting” how much of the publix footpath they can hog. Fuckem!

  7. Used to be the thing to park absolutely anywhere after 6pm on a Friday and leave it there til late Sunday cos the council didn’t have anyone on weekends and the guards don’t care. That was a night out then a day after bus into town to get the car that turned into a night out and then getting the car for work while half dying. It stopped a bit since the council lads started working Saturdays but even then they never seem to go for the cars on paths or double yellows but only the ones with an expired disc. This won’t get any punishment so the drivers will keep chancing it
