According to DB, only 75.2% of its inter-city services known as the ICE and IC trains reached their destinations on time (in 2021). This represents a significant dip from 82% in 2020 (from article text, not in title)

As someone who grew up with rural Irish transportation, I’m impressed.
The trains were only more punctual in 2020 because barely anyone used the trains. So they could depart on time which normally doesn’t happen. It always looks like DB forgets that the passengers have to enter and leave the train.
Keep in mind that Deutsche Bahn only counts trains as officially delayed when they are at least six minutes late.
no one was even travelling in 2020
And Erich Honecker only won with 99% of the votes.
Do ICE trains in Germany have their own dedicated tracks or is it shared? One of the reasons why the Japanese Shinkansen is so punctual and efficient is because they have their own dedicated track.
DB sucks so hard. One of my biggest disappointments with Germany.
As someone who has only recently moved to Germany I was shocked by the the fact that the train system is as full of delays and cancellations as it is in Italy, if not more. But more expensive.
