I think *xenophobia* is deeply ingrained in European society (or rather: in humanity). On some level, humans just dislike cultures, societies and peoples that are different.

But it is not exclusive to jews at all. I don’t see any reason to believe we are *more* anti-Jew than we are anti-Roma or anti-Arab or anti-African or anti-whatever-other-ethnic-group. The Roma have also faced discrimination throughout history, have also lived in parallel societies, have also suffered in the holocaust, et cetera.
This article pretends the xenophobia against Jews is *special*, like it’s different from other types of ethnic discrimination. And I don’t think that’s the case.
But we *do* keep treating it as a separate issue. We don’t have a specific word for discrimination against Roma – we *do* have a specific word for antisemitism.
And by treating antisemitism as different, we also *make* it different. Writing articles about how antisemitism is ingrained in European society automatically makes it ingrained in European society, in a strange way.
