Headline not really accurate. Foreign minister said Ireland is a challenging arena for Israel in Europe, not that it is a ‘challenging’ place.
Ultimately, Ireland will be proved right in it’s position on Israel’s actions and the Government is right to have said it’s piece and otherwise stay out of the conversation and not go full Cosgrave. You can already see the swing of wider public opinion on the conflict pulling away from Israel as they continue to obliterate parts of Northern Gaza.
>“Alongside our heroic fighters at the front in the south and north, we have men and women working day and night to strengthen international support for the State of Israel.”
Reminds me of the schoolyard bully approach. One thing they’re very good at is spreading propaganda to the masses, I’ll give them that.
What is with the comments in every sub these days?
To be fair the bully in your analogy just had 1’400 family members slaughtered
She’s a bit of a gobshite in all fairness.
A Nation brutalising women and children calls us ‘challenging’, I’d rather that than be seen as an appeaser. And yes HAMAS’s attack on civilians cannot be justified or condoned, and I dont, but the solution shouldn’t be the eradication of Gaza.
I’ll bet we are. A secular Liberal society with a history of calling out Apartheid governments. I’d take her comment as a compliment.
She says while printing up a few more fake Irish passports for her colleagues to use.
I’d say it’s a bit more challenging in Gaza right now but what do I know..
Why is there always a bunch of deleted comments under threads of this topic?
Is there a bunch of bots doing propaganda or something?
Edit: 3 deleted replies under this comment. Wtf is going on?
It’s democracy, good people, decent attitude to fairness and treating everyone as equals makes Ireland a very challenging place for Zionism’s evil ideology.
If someone disagreeing with you is ‘challenging’ then maybe you’re already on shaky ground.
Deja vu, didn’t we have the same from the Russians last year.
Good; it would be a stain on Ireland if they were loved by the apartheid regime.
I’m a bit out of the loop, whats this [removed] meme?
And ye know what? I couldn’t give a fuck what their opinion is of us. I’m proud we’re *challenging*. Christ, someone in the west had to be challenging this absolute genocide. Someone has to stand up. Just absolutely sickened and disillusioned the rest of Europe are going along with it, they should all be ashamed of themselves.
Ireland trying not to forgo its neutrality in favour of trendy political signalling [challenge-not attempted].
