I was sent to Birmingham for a work conference. I was totally blown away by how good it looks now compared to when I visited my brother at Uni in the 80s.

  1. >I was sent to Birmingham for a work conference

    Sorry about that

  2. If i found myself in Brimingham I’d be heading straight to the Virtual Reality experience as well.

  3. What camera did you use to take this picture ? Looks awesome !

  4. shame about the new library, got to be one of the most ugliest buildings in the uk

  5. > sent to Birmingham

Your employer must be incompetent – Coventry is another stop further on the train.

All joking aside, Birmingham has really improved in the last 20 years, it’s a great place for a city break.

  6. Birmingham is on the up! Had a great time there recently.

  7. Luckily Solihull and Selly oak are still the ghetto dumps they’ve always been if you want that authentic Birmingham feel

  8. Was the work conference centred around obtaining a packet of crisps?

  9. I actually quite like Birmingham, it really does need a better reputation, it’s a city on the up and a city with a lot of beauty.

  10. Ar,’Birmingham: It ay shite’, that should be the official slogan.

  11. I like Birmingham. Probably my favourite daytime pub crawl city in the country, there are probably 6 or 7 outstanding pubs that I’ll always do my best to visit whenever I’m there.

  12. I hate Birmingham. I got kicked out the bullring by some security guard who wanted to humiliate me. I’d literally gone to the loo, walked out and thought “let me get some tissue to blow my nose” so went back in and came out. Security stopped me and told me to leave and I protested my innocence but then they started saying “we know what you were doing with those other men in the loos”. They said it purely to humiliate me. I complained and the management said they acted properly but I’m not banned from the bullring anymore. Gee thanks seeing as it was a day trip. Still makes me angry now

  13. Around the canals is great. Some great bars and restaurants, I was pleasantly surprised there too.

  14. Birmingham has a bad rep but the times I’ve visited I’ve always had a good time. Each time I go you can tell they’ve made improvements to the city centre such grand central ect

  15. Brindleyplace….worked there for a while, was better known as Brindleypalace in the office!

  16. Sorry OP, you’re still in the virtual reality experience. The place is shit.
