1. Eat out to spread it about is how we coined that idea.

2. No surprise to anyone. The government didn’t even deny they deliberately spread COVID.

3. It did help hospitality sure, seems it also helped covid spread too. Problem is it was applicable to small businesses who desperately needed the cash, but more importantly large multinational like Mcdonalds who really dont.

   I heard a few people describing it as “eat scran to kill nan”!

5. I live above some restaurants in London and on some days there would be 100+ people queuing up with almost no social distancing, it was madness.

6. It was nice seeing what food should be priced if inflated and terrible wages hadn’t ruined it

There are a number of studies showing how large an impact this had on spreading the virus, such as [this paper](https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/soc/economics/research/centres/cage/manage/publications/wp.517.2020.pdf) by Dr Thiemo Fetzer of the CAGE Research Centre in the Economics Department at the University of Warwick. Amongst other things, he tracked infections steadily increasing around one week after the scheme started in areas that had higher uptake.
