Who could tell me what this was used for? Dug it up in my great grandmothers silverware drawer, it has the DRGM stamp carved into the top so it’s from 1890-1945. My best guess is it was used to pinch small ice cubes? Also not sure if this is the correct subreddit to ask.

I think it is for sugar cubes.
Post some better pics. But yeah, most likely a pair of ice tongs.
I’ve seen one of these before somewhere. I feel like it’s for ice or some reason a cork puller for a champagne bottle. Could be totally off.
DRGM is or was a tool manufacture. I think is something to hold to pieces of fabric together. And that the hocks are there to hold each other together
DRGM = Deutsches Reichs Gebrauchs Muster

And that thing are tongs for lemon wedges (to drip lemon juice on fish or whatever at the table)
Probably a pincer for sugar cubes. They were in every household and on every coffee table.
Ice cubes were not common until maybe the 60s, when people started to have refrigerators.
Looks like a broken Sparschäler
Already answered, but FYI, there is r/whatisthisthing which is a pretty amazing sub 🙂
