> Legal chaos ensued when De Niro balked at the proposal. He texted Chen, “The balls. the nerve. the chutzpah. the sense of entitlement, how dare her!”
De Niro texts exactly how I would expect him to.
It seems like he’s being sued for giving her a title and salary that was too high for her actual role.
$300,000 annual salary is not demeaning. This assistant got a title that was above their function and forgot the pay also was before getting nasty.
Goodness. I’ll decorate someone’s house and button their shirts for $300k a year!
> Robinson was employed by De Niro and Canal Productions from 2008 to 2019, rising from his executive assistant to director of productions and then vp of production and finance.
> **Despite her executive title**, Robinson claimed she continued to be relegated to domestic tasks, like decorating his new townhouse that he leased (De Niro claims she volunteered)
Despite her title, Hollywood Reporter, you named her as only an assistant in your headline.
If it’s true De Niro was paying her $200k/yr (after 11 years working for him) and the personal trainer $250k/yr, I can understand her $300k salary.
She stated what she felt her worth was and he agreed by raising her pay. He could have said no and replaced her.
Only r/entertainment can make De Niro sound like an asshole for paying a glorified personal assistant 300k
I’m sorry, if you’re paying an assistant $300,000 a year you can ask them to decorate your house.
I’ve been an assistant to A-listers and have been asked to do worse for far, far less.
I’m convinced people like this don’t exist in the real world. Pretty much everyone I know when describing their job they list a few things and then lump in “other duties as assigned” which ends up being a bulk of what we do. All for A LOT less than $300k. Give me a break…
“that “[m]y job at Productions kind of had been redirected to all of this gender female role where I was handling this housework, and vacuuming, and doing all of these things … It had nothing to do with VP production of finance. That was incredibly demeaning and frustrating for me to deal with.”
guys he freaking wanted her to button up his shirts and then fired her when his girlfriend got jealous.
I have a feeling that this is not going to go well for Robert De Niro
What the hell happened here
I dated a woman who was a personal shopper for him in the early 2000’s. I have never heard someone speak more highly of an employer. She loved the guy and found him to be more than fair and respectful. Also incredibly generous.
If anything, he was way nicer than her other celebrity clients in NYC. So hoping these discrimination claims are all bs.
Yeah she’s not going to win. This case is nonsense and for him to want to take it court he must be pretty confident. The fact that he’s not settling when it’s in his best interest to settle is pretty telling. He could afford this to have gone away immediately. He raised her up to 300k a year and she’s bitching because she was still asked to do things she thought were below her level. She also took a fuck ton of miles that weren’t necessary for her job and put personal expenses like dog sitting on the cards. Thats a bad financial manager.

[DeNiro](https://pagesix.com/2018/08/17/75-year-old-robert-de-niro-shows-off-his-beach-body/) is definitely getting ripped off on that $250,000 a year trainer.
>Robert De Niro sued his former assistant, Graham Chase Robinson, for binge-watching Friends on the job and stealing millions of frequent-flyer miles
Oh seriously. What a cheap fuck. You don’t sue an employee for slacking off, you simply fire them. This whole thing reads like its petty and personal.
*EDIT:
Looks like I have the wrong conclusion here:
“De Niro sued first, claiming Robinson embezzled $6 million in company funds”

You’re really going to do this to a new father?
