  1. Let’s dispel the fiction that Joe Biden doesn’t know what he’s doing…

  2. “Let’s dispel with this fiction that ~~Barack Obama~~ Joe Biden doesn’t know what he’s doing. He knows exactly what he’s doing”. – Marco Rubio, probably

  3. This has been obvious since late 2020 when his experienced, competent team hit the ground running.

  4. Problem is when the right talks about Joe Biden he is either a senile incompetent or the mastermind behind the deep state that rigged the largest election in the history of this country.

There seems to be no in between.

  5. >In 2012, when I was a partisan supporter of Mitt Romney

Remind me again why I should listen to this guy bashing progressives

  6. As anyone asked Marco Rubio if he has any fictions he would like to dispel about whether or not Joe Biden knows what he’s doing?

  7. In a sane and more intelligent world, Biden would be able to run on his accomplishments and win… and easily against someone like Trump.

I mean – I have to pay for groceries, gas, and a home which have been hit very hard by inflation and rising prices. It’s financially painful to even go out of the house these days – hell, even buying stuff online while *at home* is painful sometimes – but Biden isn’t fully responsible for that even if he must shoulder some criticisms.

It could be far worse too.

A measure of a president is what they’ve prevented in addition to what they’ve accomplished. With patience, time, and responsible governing we are on track to prosperity.

Furthermore, people seem to forget the world was shutdown for a pandemic and greedflation is a thing. Presidents mostly inherit problems from prior presidents too. There are many reasons for discontent in America that have nothing to do with Biden and are instead circumstances created by a pandemic, greed, bad actors on the worldstage, Trump, and GOP dysfunction.

Ultimately, The reality is that Biden has seen more landmark bills passed than Donald Trump and is surpassing the legislative achievements made under Barack Obama and George W. Bush. Biden has passed a number of important pieces of legislation and not only did he pass them but he did it with a very narrow legislative majority.

Just to mention a few of Biden’s accomplishments…

    * American Rescue Plan: The $1.9 trillion bill contained significant Covid-19 relief as the administration sought to combat the pandemic in 2021. It included $1,400 stimulus checks for most Americans, an expanded child tax credit that had a notable impact on child poverty rates, enhanced unemployment insurance, and state and local aid.

    * Infrastructure Bill: The $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill was a historic investment in the country’s infrastructure, including new funding for water pipes, trains, roads, and high-speed internet.

    * Inflation Reduction Act: The Inflation Reduction Act contained $485 billion in spending and $790 billion in offsets that would cover that spending. The legislation includes a substantial investment in clean energy tax credits, as well as a new policy that enables Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices with the goal of lowering the costs of a handful of expensive drugs.

    * CHIPS Act: The $52 billion CHIPS Act is dedicated to bolstering US semiconductor manufacturing, and contains measures to subsidize or expand new facilities.

    * Gun safety: funding for states to implement “red flag” laws, more screening for gun buyers under 21, and a crackdown on illegal guns.

    * Respect for Marriage Act: The Respect for Marriage Act officially repealed the Defense of Marriage Act and guarantees that all states will recognize same-sex marriages, providing important federal protections.

    * Electoral Count Reform Act: The ECRA specifies the vice president’s role in the counting of electoral votes, and makes it harder for lawmakers to challenge the outcome of a presidential election, in an effort to prevent a repeat of the January 6 riot.

    * Judges: As of the start of 2023, Biden had confirmed 100 judges including 30 circuit court nominees, 69 district court judges, and one Supreme Court justice. That surpasses Trump’s record at the same point in his presidency.

    * Executive actions: Biden has pardoned thousands of people convicted of marijuana possession under federal law, and taken a number of executive actions. These actions include a rollback of Trump policies like the travel ban, limited efforts to strengthen background checks for guns, and an attempt to cancel some student loan debt, which has been challenged in court.

    There is far more too.

But I know many aren’t even attempting to read any of the above. It’s too “wonkish” and “boring”. Much of the benefits won’t be fully realized until after many years too.

And this isn’t a sane world.

    It’s getting dumber too.

The fact Trump even has a snowball’s chance in hell at becoming president is proof of the insanity.

Biden maybe isn’t a preferred choice to be president – but if we are to aspire to living in a safer, saner, and more intelligent world, he’s quite obviously the *best choice* right now.

  8. I’ve been alive for 8 presidents and he is probably the best of those 8 in terms of competency. He navigated us out of a pandemic more or less. He has navigated a congress often controlled by nihilistic idiots. He is adeptly handling support for allies in 2 wars.

And the dude is probably the most compassionate president of my lifetime. He clearly cares about working class people. Has there ever been such an openly pro union president? He is desperately trying to reign in Israel to not just indiscriminately murder Palestinians.

Even if the other side wasn’t offering a collection of fascists and morons, he’d be the obvious choice in 2024.

  9. As someone who sort of begrudgingly voted for Biden (in the primary, general was a no-brainer), I’m impressed at how much he’s been able to accomplish.

  10. Joe Biden needs to win over young and progressive voters to win in 2024. This is a well known fact. Young and progressive voters overwhelmingly disprove of his actions on Israel and Gaza. So what does the media do? Trash young and progressive voters, accusing them of ignorance and asserting Biden’s infallibility over all else. This is not a winning strategy.

  11. I believe this is true. But Democrats are making the same mistake with Biden that they made with RBG.

We need to be more realistic about the age of these politicians and he needs to be replaced with a younger candidate now. Otherwise, just like with RGB, we’ll be wishing the party had acted sooner.

Just because he has our support does not mean he is superhuman. The guy’s clock is ticking. That’s life. That’s biology. Whether we like it or not.

  12. this guy seems relatively conservative and still thinks biden is doing a good job. nice

  13. Thank you NYT! Biden magnates to pass difficult legislation with the slimmest of margins, battling foreign adversaries and a government infected with fascists while the news media constantly hammers him.

    Biden is great.

  14. He’s had one of the most successful presidencies in decades. Corporate media and corporate greed are the problems, not Biden.

  15. I sometimes get the sense that while Biden is supporting Israel publicly, he is twisting the shit out of Netanyahu’s arm behind the scenes. Doing so allows him to maintain a strong public front against Iran while preventing worse calamities in Gaza. Pure speculation on my part though.

  16. Meanwhile, Mr Tiny Hanfs needs assistants to remind him what town he’s in.

  17. Joe Biden > Whoever becomes the Republican nominee, probably Diaper Donnie.

Even if you have legitimate concerns about Biden, it’s crucial that he wins re-election. If you’re not registered to vote, do it today. We need every vote just like 2020. Let’s make it happen!

  18. Absolutely bonkers to me how this isn’t the standard view among the US voting public…

He has brought stability, dignity, morality, and class back to the White House in a way I didn’t think possible post-Trump.

He’s navigating some of the most complex geopolitical issues of our time in a way that harkens back to an older age of statesmanship devoid of the contemporary domination by personal egos… It is happening behind closed doors and without Biden needing to be the center of attention. This is especially important in today’s hyper-partisan divide where even talking to the “other side” can cost you political points…

He’s a true Master Class in governing and should easily win a second term by a landslide.

  19. Republicans keep trying crazier and crazier.

All this mf has to do is, stand back and watch them burn themselves

  20. To be honest that’s not exactly comforting to know.

  21. This community appears to be obsessed with, yea you guess it, Donald Trump.

Scrolled through post for 5 minutes and there’s a lot of great material, but why do we have to obsess over this man? The topic of conversation is what a wonderful job Joe Biden is doing – he has saved America.

  22. I think what baffles me most is that Joe has gotten more done in the past three years than a handful of other Presidents have in eight:

    – The American Rescue Plan
    – Bi-partisan Infrastructure Act
    – Inflation Reduction Act
    – First major Federal gun safety bill in decades
    – Chips and Science Act
    – Added insulin to the list of drugs Medicare can negotiate
    – United NATO against Russia making the bloc the most united it’s been in decades
    – Has forgiven billions in student loan debt to the millions of people who were fraudulently taken advantage of (I know we all didn’t get what we wanted…yet, but he did a ton here)
    – Electoral Count Reform
    – Respect for Marriage Act
    – Through pressure and tariffs is all but forcing US manufacturers to abandon China.

This list of accomplishments is truly incredible for a President. Yes he’s old. Yes he isn’t my first choice. But he is one of the most consequential president’s we’ve had in decades.

The only real thing against him is the economy, which is doing VERY WELL…for the rich. A majority of Americans are still losing money and being affected by the high cost of living and inflation. Instead of pointing their anger at the billionaires, they blame Joe.

I’m voting for Joe for another term, regardless of what happens with Israel and Hamas.

Trump must be stopped, and the lid needs to be put back on these crazy people he’s awakened for the betterment of the U.S. and society.

  23. That’s exactly what republicans don’t like about him lmao.

    “He’s a politician!”

  24. Fucking Biden is doing a great job. Why on earth isn’t anyone noticing?

  25. I know he’s not super progressive on the Israel-Palestine issue but he’s the fucking adult in the room in a very tricky situation where he needs to tightrope foreign policy.

Imagine tRump being at the helm and this pops off. Holy shit. It would be WW3. No hyperbole.

  26. IF more people paid attention to the accomplishment Biden has achieved, and stop listing to right wing narrative that are only meant to distract, deflect and deny, and then lie.

THEN, more people will focus on the good works that the Biden Administration has done.

I hope he stands firm on a Two State Solution and put the pressure on the U.N. to do so to fix the mess they created when they didn’t do it when they created the partition. That will yet another good achievement by Biden.

Hamas **does not** represent all Palestinian people. A two state solution can get the people from under the apartheid like system that Israel current has over the Palestinian land and its people.

If the U.N. had done the right thing in 1948, these people would not be as poor as they are today, because they would have been recognized globally as a State.

I think a lot of the Inflation we experience is nothing but Republicanism which invades the minds of Corporate America, and they think screwing the people with manufactured inflation will help Republican, so they can get another tax cut. I also think Republican influences in corporate American did all it could to try and suck up the Stimulus money that was designed to help the American People.

American history has always shown that any time anything goes to help the people, Right Wing Conservatives will do anything by any means to try and defeat it and to suck up the money to try to limit it benefitting the people.

No right wing conservatives had any problem with free Community College or low cost State Universities during the decades when black people and single white women could not easily benefit from it. They now fight against it because they don’t want to see black and brown people, single white women and dire poor whites people to get that education, because they want to keep the people under-educated and unaware of the civics and political awareness.

I’m sure Biden learned during the Obama Administration, to ensure that bills passed have clauses that if Republican try to destroy it, it only kicks in another means of being protected so they can’t destroy it.

If people get out and vote, I think Biden/Harris will do a lot to fix the Southern Border, by following up on their ideas to help those Central America and Mexican countries fight their crime and corruption and provide the assistance to take down the Narco networks, so business can flourish and government can govern.

Stay away from Republican Narratives and more and more people can appreciate the work Biden is doing for America and the American Society.

  27. I’ve been saying it for a while, Biden has done a masterful job with so many chaotic events going on.

  28. First off, let’s dispel this notion that Joe Biden doesn’t know what he is doing. He knows exactly what he is doing. ;V

  29. I struggle to get people around me understand that Biden is doing a good job with what he was handed. They all hate trump, but for some reason they think Biden is a doddering old man that has not accomplished anything.

  30. Pres. Biden has met every challenge that has been thrown at him and exceeded everyone’s expectations.

  31. Looking at the responses to this post it’s clear almost no one read the article. This is specifically about the Israel Palestine conflict and people here are talking about his infrastructure bills.

  32. At the end of the day normies are only going to see inflation and more war with one president and the other you had cheaper gas prices and rent . The polls are showing Biden popularity declining and the only reason why you keep seeing these fluff articles is because of that fact .

  33. Let’s dispel with the idea that Joe Biden doesn’t know what he’s doing. He knows exactly what he’s doing.

  34. Biden got us out of an endless war in Afghanistan. Trump, Obama, Bush wouldn’t do it. It wasn’t pretty, but he got it done.

  35. Biden is effective. He doesn’t say the things you want him to say, but he keeps pulling the strings behind the scenes and gets stuff done. Exactly what his lame ass invisible vice president should be doing. Where TF is Kamala? But good job Joe.
