It was supposed to be an attack on Trans kids. “*If boys can claim that they identify as girls, and girls can claim they identify as boys, what’s to stop them from identifying as cats? And if they are identifying as cats, then what, are they gonna be needing litter boxes in the classrooms instead of using bathrooms?!?*”

    When you try and make something that people don’t understand into hyperbole that doesn’t make sense, then people will automatically make the leap that the hyperbole is true.

  26. Soooo in LA we used to have buckets with a small amount of cat liter because we would go in shut downs if there was a shooting. So republicans really don’t want to ask why the cat liter is really in there

  30. In 40 years, there will be articles about ‘silly obscure laws that are actually on the books’ and the top answer will be, ‘No student shall be permitted to make use of a litter box on school premises for either urinary or defication purposes.’

    And the people writing the article will wonder why this was ever even a law.

  34. There was one school that had a liter box in the school. Nobody ever used it.

    It was for when there was a school shooter and they are hiding in place. That they could use the liter box to go to the bathroom.

  40. Jesus fucking Christ. I’ve searched. Snopes has searched. I can’t find a single fucking story of kids using litter boxes to piss in school. When I was in school the janitors used kitty litter to clean up puke when a kid threw up because kids throw up all the time for no reason. They also know that their constituents aren’t gonna question their bullshit, because if they did, they’d have to accept that they’re fucking fools

  42. Did a little snooping on the con page and the only source I could find came from England and the Telegraph (ahem) with an “anonymous” anecdote and no actual evidence. When comments turned to the source’s validity it snowballed into hurt feelings and deflections.
