I would be traveling with my friend to Tromsø, Bergen and Oslo from 25 December to 1 January and I was hoping get some advice by the locals or fellow travelers on what to do and what not do. [We will be in Copenhagen for Christmas and then go to Tromsø]. Although the itinerary looks touristic, we love experiencing the real essence of the cities and also the nature. It looks like this simply because of the time constraints and the fact that we don’t have European driving license. So any kind of recommendations are really appreciated!
The itinerary is the following:
25/12 -27/12: In Tromsø, [Aurora Camp by Best Artic](https://www.visitnorway.com/listings/aurora-safari-camps/226897/). [This is betting on the chance that we will see Aurora given the high solar activity this year. But in case we don’t, **what are the other things to do in Tromsø?** I am aware that town has a nice architecture, a unique cathedral and a beautiful view from a cable car.]
28/12: Visit Bergen [**Any particular recommendations here?**]
29/12: We start the trip from Bergen to Oslo.
– Bergen to Voss by train
– Voss to Gudvangen by bus
– Take a cruise to see Nærøyfjord and Aurlandsfjord
– Arrive in Flam by the cruise
– Train from Flam to Myrdal to Oslo
30/12: Do a sunrise and/or sunset hike to Vettakollen and Sognsvann.
31/12: Visit Oslo and celebrate New Year’s Eve [**Any particular recommendations here?**]

If your goal is to see the nordlys with only 2 nights in Tromsø I would suggest that you consider booking a chase tour instead of a fixed camp.
I know it says they have alternative sites but the chases are far more nimble and if you go with one that has a few vehicles out they stay in touch with each other and have more chance of finding clear sky that all can then benefit from.
Something to consider, anyway.
Also be aware that a lot of things may be closed on 25th-26th December.
